It’s been a mild summer as far as summer goes in Texas this year, but that doesn’t mean we wish it would cool down just a little bit.

If you’re craving some winter fun but don’t want to travel too far, you need to set your sites on Richardson and the Shredder Ski and Snowboarding school.

It’s a completely indoors ski and snowboarding school, and it opened earlier this year.

Owner Robert Lacey grew up in Vermont, though he moved to North Texas a couple of years ago.  He saw the Shredder school concept online thought it was a good idea, though he wasn’t prepared for the overwhelming response of North Texans interested in learning how to ski.

He told WFAA, “I just didn’t know the amount of people that ski in Dallas.”

Lacey says although the instruction is primarily geared towards kids, Shredder offers private lessons for adults.

Shredder Ski and Snowboarding is located at 1002 N. Central Expressway Suite 229.
