It was recently announced that one of DFW’s biggest stars will be returning home later this year for the grand reopening of the Downtown Garland Square. Under renovations since November 2021, the square outside City Hall is almost ready and to celebrate Garland’s own LeAnn Rimes will be in town to help mark the occasion.

On October 14, the city of Garland will reopen their Downtown Square after almost two years of renovations. While not many details about the event have been shared at this time, the city revealed Garland legend LeAnn Rimes will have a role in the festivities. While Rimes wasn’t born in Texas, she moved to Garland as a child and spent many years in the metroplex.

According to Fox 4 News, more details about the event will be released in the coming months. As part of the renovations, Downtown Garland Square will now feature a large recreational and event lawn, an observatory treehouse, a play area, a water feature an more. Hopefully all the changes are up to LeAnn Rimes’ standards.
