Recently, a resident of Cromwell, TX wrote on Facebook, “If you want to see the effects of a data center first hand, come on over to my place after dark tonight and look east.”
This person is just one of many living in rural Texas towns that are dealing with the “artificial daylight” created by new data centers. Even in the darkness of night, they shine so bright it’s as if the sun is creeping over the horizon to battle the moon in the middle of the night.
The resident added that the artificial light is “shining even brighter than the entire city,” and that it is “polluting the sky so badly you cannot even see the stars we sing about shining big and bright.”
Crowell, TX is getting a Data Center dropped on them, it’s a tiny town with about 800 people. They have a lawyer who grew up there helping them. On her Facebook I saw this exchange ..this is the photo he posted and said he is 3.2 miles are and this is his sky at night now pic.twitter.com/h9BQgSr2iE

According to the Daily Mail, proponents of the data centers cite the amount of jobs and tax revenue they can bring to struggling economies.
