High school football is played throughout the country, but here in Texas it’s more than just a game. In some towns everything shuts down the moment the Friday night lights go on and the local school’s game begins. Apparently this level of passion has led to quite a bit of success on the football field, as a recent study found that Texas high schools have produced more NFL players than any other state.
At the start of the 2022 NFL season, BeenVerified.com conducted to a study to find which states produce the most NFL players. According to CW33, Texas high schools have produced 2,614 over the years. That is more than any other state, as the next closest is California with 2,602.
As for the current NFL, Texas still leads with 199 players. Many of these players came from Allen High School, Desoto High School and Westlake High School. Based on this study, it seems Texas high school football will continue to produce NFL players.
