The curfews have expired and now the clean up and damage assessment is underway after a weekend of unrest and looting throughout the Bay Area.
In Oakland, employees took stock this morning at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store on International Blvd and Hyde St, where the doors have been wrenched open and windows busted.
"I seen a car parked right here, he went in there like eight times," says employee Nick Paul. "I'm not even playing he went in there like eight times and I called the cops."
Much of the expensive merchandise was taken. "Seat covers, code readers, tools, all kinds of very expensive stuff," says Paul.
A manager was able to clean up some of the mess and board up the store, but she tells KCBS Radio that after she was done she called police to escort her to the 580 freeway just across the street because looters were waiting outside. The store was broken into a second time.
Oakland police say 60 people were arrested overnight on a mix of charges of looting, vandalism, and suspicion of shooting at officers. Just after midnight someone fired on the police administration building and three suspects were arrested.
