Officers responded to a shooting on eastbound I-580 near the 106th Ave. off-ramp Wednesday afternoon that injured several people.
Three men and two women were reportedly in a vehicle that was hit by gunfire just after 3 p.m. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting all the men and one of the women were hit.
The eastbound lanes of I-580 were shut down for several hours before the freeway reopened at about 7:30 p.m.
The injured were been taken to nearby hospitals. No word on their conditions.
The incident remains under investigation.
