There will likely be another round of intentional power outages for more than 100,000 PG&E customers in the East Bay this weekend.

The strong winds, which contributed to the fast growth of the Kincade Fire, are in the forecast for Saturday night through midday Monday.

Combined with low humidity and warmer temperatures, PG&E has advised Contra Costa and Alameda counties that customers should expect to go without electricity.

Nearly 48,000 homes and businesses in Contra Costa County are expected to go dark by 10 p.m. on Saturday while 58,000 customers in Alameda County will also experience the outage.

Pacific Gas and Electric has said this shutoff will last even longer than the massive outage earlier this month that prompted widespread complaints about the company's performance.
