President Donald Trump went to Paradise in Butte Couty to survey wildfire damage and he's been to the border, but for the first time since taking office, he will come to the Bay Area.

He’s scheduled to come next month to raise money for his re-election campaign.

Harmeet Dhillon, California's Republican National Committeewoman and co-chair of Women for Trump, will be one of the hosts of the event.

“Money is the name of the game in presidential elections, and all elections these days, so it’s important the president be out there,” she said. “Just like Democrats are coming to the Bay Area with like 20 fundraisers, the president is adding this one.”

The date, time and specific location are being kept secret for security reasons, especially since the last time Trump was here — for a 2016 campaign rally in San Jose — protesters triggered a violent melee.

Trump intends to be the first billion-dollar presidential candidate, eclipsing what he and Hillary Clinton spent combined in 2016,

Tickets to this fundraiser are not cheap. They start at $1,000 a head and top out at $100,000.

But Dhillon says there is pent-up demand, even though Republicans are a small minority in the Bay Area.

“The $1,000 bronze seating is already sold out,” Dhillon said.
