Thousands of protesters decked out in red, white and blue flocked to the State Capitol grounds in Sacramento on Friday afternoon - many there for the same reasons, some more simple than others.
"I need a haircut," one man said. "That's it. That's all I'm here for."
The rally comes as several Bay Area counties and others around the state have extended their shelter-in-place orders. Gov. Gavin Newsom's statewide order remains indefinite, and the governor closed all beaches in Orange County this week after beachgoers flooded the area last weekend.
Others contend they're fed up with state leadership, calling for Gov. Newsom to be removed from office over the extended orders.
Protestors also in their cars: honking horns, waving American flags, holding signs that read "fear is the real virus"... one even attached a sinking California ship to the back of their truck. @KCBSRadio pic.twitter.com/GSTTOPjy5w

"Everyone is essential," Judy said. "Freedom is essential. I actually think people should just open the businesses themselves instead of waiting for the governor. Where does he get his authority for this?"
"I want out," the man said. "Are we all in it together? I don't think so. I feel like I'm in solo confinement."
