Lisa Chan

Lisa is an Emmy award winning television journalist who began her career reporting and anchoring the news in 1999.

She was born and raised in the East Bay, attended Bishop O’Dowd High School and received her undergraduate degree from UCLA. This is where Lisa was introduced to the TV business, by working at Entertainment Tonight, Fox News Channel and Good Morning America.

After sending out more than 200 resume tapes (on VHS) all over the country she landed her first job and launched her journalism career in Lawrence, Kansas. Lisa was the education reporter for Channel 6 News and covered the Kansas Board of Education’s decision to stop teaching evolution as part of the state’s science curriculum. Her next job took her to Kearney, Nebraska where she was the producer and anchor of Good Morning Nebraska and the News at Noon on KHGI-TV, the ABC affiliate. Here, she started weekly cooking, music and fitness segments and even read the farm reports but is most proud of hosting a debate on whether the state should recognize same-sex marriages.

Lisa’s next stop was Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she started as a general assignment reporter and traffic anchor but was eventually promoted to weekend anchor. She won a Milwaukee Press Club award for a feature she did on a Walmart greeter who ended up saving someone’s life.

Finally, Lisa came home to the Bay Area to report and anchor the news on the local CBS station, KPIX 5 in San Francisco. This is where she won an Emmy for her reporting on the Olympic torch relay.

Lisa is thrilled to have made the jump to radio. When she’s not anchoring the news, she’s selling real estate all over the Bay Area as a Realtor for The Grubb Company or spending time with her husband and three boys.
