According to reporting by Business Insider, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes told KMJNOW that he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The lawmaker now joins 11 senators and 34 members of the House who have tested positive for coronavirus or for its antibodies.

For months Nunes dismissed the danger of the pandemic and even suggested health officials downplay stay-at-home orders.

"When you have people staying at home, not taking care of themselves, you will have a hell of a lot more people dying by other causes than you will the coronavirus," Nunes told Fox News' Laura Ingraham in April.

Thursday, LA County reported close to 13,000 new COVID-19 cases shattering the old one-day record set less than a week ago.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti just said a person is dying from the coronavirus every 20-minutes in LA County.
