The fatal shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. on Saturday at the 950 block of Apgar Street near the Emeryville border, authorities said.
Officers arrived on the scene and found two victims suffering from catastrophic gunshot wounds, both of whom succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The two victims have been identified as brothers Angel Soleto, 15, and Jazy Soleto, 17, both students at Berkeley High School, according to a GoFundMe organized for their family.
Two other unidentified injured individuals at the scene were rushed to a local hospital and were in stable condition as of Sunday morning.
Witnesses told KCBS Radio the teenagers were at a party at a rented house when a masked gunman stormed into the building and opened fire. KPIX reported there were between 30 to 40 teenagers at the party which was believed to be a birthday celebration.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
The brothers leave behind four siblings and a single mother, according to the GoFundMe. Angel was described by the organizers as a "gentle soul, who loved and cared deeply for those around him. He was also a caring son, brother and friend. He was one who was always ready for a fun time, constantly carrying joy and laughter wherever he went."
Jazy was "the quieter of the two, who tended to naturally assume the role of protector. He was a funny and smart young man, who was curious and excited about learning, about going to college, and was focused on his future education plans. Importantly, he was a loving son, brother and friend," organizers wrote on the donation website.
The GoFundMe has raised over $60,000, nearly doubling its goal of $35,000.
In a statement, Berkeley Unified School District said they are "deeply saddened to learn that two Berkeley High students lost their lives to senseless gun violence," and that "counselors will be on hand (Monday) morning" for students and staff.
The violence comes just days after another shooting in Oakland at the King Estates campus which injured six people, including two students. No arrests have been made and authorities continue to investigate the shooting.
Twelve people have been killed in Oakland in the past two weeks.
