The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck near Concord on Thursday afternoon.
The shaking reportedly lasted a few seconds and started at 4:48 p.m.
The depth was estimated at 10 miles with an epicenter about 0.7 miles west of Concord, according to the USGS. No damage or injuries are expected.

Just last week, a magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck about two miles west of Concord at an estimated depth of four miles. It could be felt as far west as San Francisco and Pacifica and as far north as Fairfield, according to reports.
No structural damage or injuries were reported.
The week before that, a 2.6 magnitude earthquake also hit the same spot.
