Authorities are conducting an investigation after two Marin County businesses received arson threats due to their COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
The Papermill Creek Saloon in Forest Knolls and Body Kinetics in San Rafael each discovered alarming letters written in scratchy handwriting last week demanding that vaccination requirements be eased, KTVU reported.

"The note said 'If your vaccine passport is not removed by this time next week, this place will burn,'" Jared Litwin, manager of the Papermill Creek Saloon told the station.
A man delivered the threat by hand last Friday night while the bar served a usual crowd of loyal locals.
"The door opens up, and a guy in a ski mask wearing all black, throws a note on the floor and runs off," Litwin said to the station. "And as soon as I read it, we all ran out to look for him but it's dark, there are no street lights out here."
Body Kinetics received an almost identical note written in the same chicken scratch handwriting the following night. Both businesses require proof of vaccination for entry.
KCBS Radio has reached out to the Papermill Creek Saloon and Body Kinetics regarding the incident, but has not yet heard back.
