"We are seeing some stronger wind gusts with the front this morning, especially over the higher terrain of North and East Bay," the National Weather Service reported. "Given these gusts in combination with the saturated soils, trees may come down today."

The weather service issued a flood advisory for Alameda and Contra Costa counties until at least 10:45 a.m. and a second flood advisory for San Francisco until 11:30 a.m.

"Doppler radar indicated heavy rain moving across the East Bay with additional rain showers likely to impact the region," the weather service said. "This will cause urban and small stream flooding."

Officials warned that drivers should stay alert to flooded roadways. If you're traveling and you encounter flooding, slow down and safely turn around. It’s more important to get to your destination safely than to drive into water.
