A pedestrian struck by a Caltrain in a San Francisco tunnel has been hospitalized, resulting in one train being delayed for nearly 90 minutes on Monday afternoon.

The commuter rail agency said the southbound 514 train hit an alleged trespasser in Tunnel No. 3 at 2:25 p.m. on Monday, in between the Bayshore and 22nd St. Caltrain stations. The victim was injured in the strike and transported to a local hospital for treatment after emergency personnel responded to the scene, according to a spokesperson.

Caltrain didn't provide an update on the victim’s condition, nor did the agency disclose their identity.

Two northbound trains (119, 511) were held at the Bayshore station, while another (121) was held at South San Francisco.

All four trains were released just before 3:45 p.m., according to the agency. Southbound 514 reached was ultimately delayed about 80 minutes, after originally being scheduled to reach the end of its line at the San Jose Diridon station at 3:28 p.m.
