SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – A 67-year-old cyclist died on the Bay View Trail in China Camp State Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Sherman Wayne Chen was riding his electric-powered bike on the Bay View Trail and lost control of his bike while going down a hill, making him ride off a steep ridgeline falling to the ground, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers received a call about the biker at around 12:23 p.m. They found Chen on a steep ravine, suffering injuries from the impact of his fall, authorities said. Paramedics arrived to provide medical aid but he kept declining ad failed to respond to treatment and died at the scene.
The cause of death is under investigation and a full examination with toxicology testing is scheduled for later this week, police said.
