KCBS Radio bid farewell to veteran traffic anchor George Rask on Friday.

The beloved anchor began his career with KCBS Radio in 1982.

On and off for the past four decades, Rask has been a passionate, hardworking and revolutionary part of the KCBS Radio team, entertaining listeners and coworkers alike with his wit, knowledge and infectious smile.

From winning the Associated Press Broadcast Award to starting Traffic Central and AutoTalk, Rask made a momentous impact on the radio industry.

Outside of traffic, Rask also co-hosted the “KCBS Kitchen," co-anchored "The Return of the Cable Cars to San Francisco," was on-air for the night the Berlin Wall fell and the day the Oakland Hills fire started and was part of the Peabody Award winning KCBS Radio team for coverage of the Loma Prieta earthquake.

KCBS Radio congratulates George for his many years of hard work and wishes "The Most Interesting Man in the World" all the best for whatever is next.
