At Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara final preparations are underway for what will likely be a very wet afternoon.

The soggy field will is set to host the 49ers' first home playoff game since 2019.

"Our 3,200 plus game day employees are fans too," said Jim Mercurio, the general manager at Levi's Stadium. "So they're really, really excited to be entering into the playoffs but just means you got to hone your skills a little bit more."

Before 70,000 fans can pack the stadium Saturday, about half a dozen literal, large, wind-turbine fans working to keep the rain off the newly installed turf.

The fans are working overtime to blowdry the turf before the big game.

"It allows you to push that water and dry some of the surface stuff," said Mercurio. "It took some water, earlier in the week, but it’s built for that, the drainage system allows for that."

This game marks the third time the team will face their rivals to the North, and fans are eager with anticipation.

The season has been full of ups and downs so far, starting with the loss of two starting quarterbacks due to injury.

But the so-called "Mr. Irrelevant" Brock Purdy has come out as an unexpected star this season, and his jersey is currently one of the top-selling at the stadium.
