FOODIE PICK: A16 OAKLAND / SAN FRANCISCO
Shelley Lindgren is known locally as the woman behind popular Italian restaurants A16 in Oakland and San Francisco. A16 serves up some of the most authentic and best wine paired Italian cuisine in the Bay and perhaps even the country. Come for the perfect pies and yummy pasta but stay for a wine pairing, you’ll be happy you did.
Shelley Lindgren is known to a wider audience as a rock star Sommelier who has introduced the Bay and beyond to the finest and most approachable Italian wines. Such is her status in the wine world and her passion so deep and steadfast, the Italian government in 2019 bestowed upon her a Dame-hood. Her love and knowledge around vino from Italy can be read (wine in hand of course) in the new book “Italian Wine”: The history, regions and grapes of an iconic wine country.

HALLOWEEN: CASTRO CELEBRATION
After 17 years, Halloween In The Castro comes home for one day only. This Saturday at 1 P.M., the queerest corner on earth becomes the spookiest nook in the Bay. Local merchants will be getting in on the Halloween fun. This is the boost the neighborhood needs. For so many years this was the palace to be for the Hallowed eve.
The Castro Theatre will be hosting spooky movies all day and night. Here are some of the highlights:

- 6pm Hocus Pocus
- 8pm Costume contest
- 10pm Rocky Horror Picture Show
FESTIVAL: WHISKYFEST SF
WhiskyFest has arrived in San Francisco this Friday at SF Marriott Marquis SoMa for one day only. The main event is sampling hundreds of whiskies from around the world, including single malt and blended Scotch, Irish, French, bourbon, rye, Tennessee, Japanese, Taiwanese, Canadian, and craft-distilled whiskies. You can also attend seminars hosted by members of the whisky community, talk to the experts pouring at their booths, and be sure to get some food in you via the gourmet buffet that will be available all evening. General admission is $295, VIP is an additional $80 ($375 total) but it gets you in an hour early.
FUNDRAISER: NKF AUTHORS LUNCHEON
Come one come all to the National Kidney Foundation Authors Luncheon. It is the largest event of its kind in the Bay Area. Over the years, this event has fostered a sense of community among book lovers and writers, all while raising crucial funds for kidney patients in need. This year's anniversary celebration promises those who are passionate about literature to join NKF in the effort to transform kidney care and improve the lives of millions through education, advocacy, and research.
The event will feature four best-selling authors - Lee Child, Anita Gail Jones, Lauren Groff, Mac Barnett, and award-winning illustrator, Shawn Harris. The unique event unites literary enthusiasts with the NKF to help improve outcomes for those living with and at risk for kidney disease. See you at The Palace tomorrow, the event will run from 11 A.M. - 3 P.M..

On November 9th, PRC's signature event of the year, the Mighty Real Gala, is all about being Mighty Real. It’s also about being absolutely fabulous, just like Sylvester. He transformed our ideas about who and what we could be, and he was going to be a star.
