A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in North San Jose late Sunday.
"We can confirm that at the time of the incident the suspect was pointing a handgun at the involved Officer," San Jose Police tweeted.
Tuesday night, San Jose Police released apparent surveillance images showing the suspect holding a gun and getting in his car.
Two San Jose Police officers were following up on a criminal investigation at a home in the 1100 block of Tofts Dr. in the Flickinger South neighborhood at about 11:40 p.m., Sgt. Christian Camarillo told KCBS Radio.
"The suspect that they were here investigating presented himself," he said. "There was a confrontation. There were some shots fired by one of our officers. Subsequently, the suspect was struck and he was pronounced deceased here at the scene."
No one else was injured.

Police aren’t saying what sort of investigation brought officers to the scene.
"What did the suspect due to caused the officers to use deadly force? That’s what we’re dealing with. Last night, these officers did an exemplary job in my opinion," Sgt. Camarillo added.
Neighbors are stunned. They said incidents like this don’t happen there.
Please said the circumstances of this fatal confrontation will be released in the next day or two and are "really cut and dry." Camarillo isn’t saying what weapon, if any, the suspect possessed.
This is the second fatal officer-involved shooting in San Jose this year.
