A 21-year-old man was shot and later died following a car crash last week in Hayward, police said.

The incident happened last Friday just after 11 p.m. as officers responded to the crash on Foothill Blvd. south of Hazel Ave. When they got to the scene, the man was found inside the vehicle – which had "major front-end damage" and was facing southbound on Foothill Blvd. – suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
