
Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a service dog in San Francisco's Lower Haight on Monday night.

Officers from Park Station responded to reports at 7:43 p.m. that a dog was stolen at Waller and Octavia Streets, according to a police press release.
The 54-year-old male victim told police that he and his certified service dog, a five-year-old German Shepard mix named "Summer," were approached by the unknown male suspect who "briefly engaged in conversation," officials said.
The suspect then grabbed the animal's harness and fled with Summer down Octavia Street before turning onto Market Street.
No other information was released.
