The famed New York City bakery Milk Bar is coming to San Francisco, but it’s not staying for long.

A month after their products became available for delivery in the Bay Area, the company announced they are opening a pop-up inside Gott’s Roadside at the Ferry Building for a limited time this upcoming Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The surprise visit is part of the bakery’s "Birthday Do-Over Tour" where it is popping up for short stints at various locations in the country throughout the summer. Other destinations include Chicago and Seattle.

The award-winning sweets shop has become renowned for its creative gourmet desserts including birthday truffles, crack pie and cereal milk soft serve ice cream.

“Milk Bar is a sweet (and occasionally savory) shop that’s been turning familiar treats upside down and on their heads, shaking up the dessert scene since 2008,” according to the restaurant’s website.

The trendy bakery started with a shop in the East Village of Manhattan and has expanded to nine different locations across the U.S. and Canada.

People that aren’t able to visit the pop-up this weekend can still receive a taste of Milk Bar in the Bay Area. Gott’s will be selling a Compost Cookie shake, made with the bakery’s sweet-and-salty cookies, at all its locations from July 31 to mid-September.
