The Russian River Brewing Company closed its famous Windsor Pub both Wednesday and Thursday due to a lack of healthy employees available to work, and the restaurant could stay shuttered through the weekend.

In addition, the brewery's Santa Rosa Pub has also shut down both days for "cleaning and maintenance."
Officials cited "COVID, cold and flu illnesses" among its workers at the Windsor Pub "on top off an already limited staff," as reason for the two-day closure.
The restaurant requires all its employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted by Jan. 20, wear masks and they are not allowed to hangout with each other inside the restaurant. However, that still hasn't stopped COVID-19 from reaching the pub's employees.

"We're finding that we're not having any sort of internal outbreaks, but we're having multiple people testing positive at the same time from different sources," co-owner Natalie Cilurzo told KCBS Radio.
Cilurzo said one of the main issues is testing - employees are quarantining sometimes weeks between getting an appointment and waiting for test results.
"Trying to run a business like that is impossible, it is absolutely impossible. We have so many employees who are out awaiting results from tests," she said.

Officials have said they "hope" to reopen both locations on Friday.
Despite the COVID issues, the brewery still plans to hold its annual Pliny the Younger release event, from Feb. 4 to Feb. 17, at both its Windsor and Santa Clara locations.
