One person died after being struck by a falling tree limb while picnicking Saturday in a park in the city of Burlingame.
Two other individuals remain hospitalized with significant injuries as of Sunday afternoon, according to posts by city officials on Nextdoor and Facebook.

The roughly 60-foot branch dropped "suddenly" from a large tree in Washington Park, killing a San Mateo resident, officials said.
The park is located directly in front of Burlingame High School and is a popular picnic spot.
"We express our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the person who passed away and our wishes for a speedy recovery for the two people in the hospital," the post read.

People are urged to avoid the area of Washington Park near Carolan Ave. while the city conducts an investigation. The area remained taped off Sunday.
