Oracle is making the move to Texas after 40+ years in the Bay Area. The company will be moving their headquarters from Redwood City to Austin, Texas.

Larry Ellison founded the company in 1977 in Santa Clara and it spent the 80s headquartered in Belmont before moving to Redwood City in 1989.

This comes as Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced his move to Texas this week & HP makes a move from Palo Alto to Houston. Texas Governor Greg Abbott applauded Oracle's move as he called Texas the land of "business, jobs, & opportunity".

Oracle's Redwood City HQ is home to 6,500 employees, which makes up 13.5% of the jobs in the city.
