A person found in San Francisco Bay near the Ferry Building on Tuesday morning has been pronounced dead.
San Francisco Fire Department Public Information Officer Lt. Jonathan Baxter told KCBS Radio they received multiple 911 calls about a person in the water on the Embarcadero at approximately 8:15 a.m. San Francisco Fire, Police and Marine assets were all deployed to the scene.

The person was located just after 8:30 a.m. and, after being assessed by paramedics, was pronounced dead.
Baxter said it's unclear why the unidentified adult victim was in the water.
KCBS Radio reached out to the San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office for additional details and has not heard back. The incident caused some delays to the ferry system, however operations have since resumed as normal.
