Authorities have given the "all clear" at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, a large veterans' facility, following reports of a person with a gun walking on the campus early Tuesday.
SWAT teams locked down the campus and searched it building by building after police received a 911 call Tuesday morning of an armed suspect in the area.
According to the Napa Valley Register, the initial report was of a woman with a shotgun. The report triggered a massive law enforcement response but by 11 a.m., police began letting civilian vehicles leave the campus for the first time.
There are no reports of any shots fired or injuries at this time and police have made no arrests.
It is not clear at this time whether the report of an armed suspect was ever substantiated.
The nation is on edge after two mass shootings occurred in less than one week.
Just Monday, 10 people were killed after a gunman opened fire inside of a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado.
The Veterans Home of California was the site of a mass shooting in March 2018 after the shooter, Albert Wong, arrived at the facility armed with a semi-automatic weapon and a large amount of ammunition.
Wong shot and killed Jennifer Gonzales Shushereba, Jennifer Golick and Christine Lobber before killing himself. All three women were employees at the Pathway Home residential facility.
