Portions of both directions of U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo County will be closed overnight for sign replacement work starting Sunday, according to Caltrans.

The agency said it will remove five overhead sign bridges between Millbrae Ave. and South Airport Blvd. as part of the San Mateo 101 Express Lanes Project.

Southbound 101 will be closed on February 28, March 1 and March 2 between South Airport Blvd and San Bruno Avenue, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Northbound 101 will be closed March 3 and March 4 between Millbrae Avenue and San Bruno Avenue, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Caltrans is advising drivers to be familiar with the proposed detour routes and allow extra travel time.
