SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – After a two-year pandemic hiatus, the people crazy enough to slide down the side of San Francisco's skyscrapers are back to doing what they do.

We watched from the 20th floor of Hilton's iconic Union Square hotel as nervous daredevils started more than 40 floors from the ground.

It's part of the annual Skyline Challenge – volunteers rappelling down the building in an effort to raise money for Outward Bound, a group that gets kids involved in outdoor experiences.

"It was my first time doing this," one willing participant told KCBS Radio. "I'm still coming down from the adrenaline rush."
