San Francisco police are now offering a $25,000 for information that can help them catch the suspect in a killing in the city's Tenderloin district that has been unsolved for nearly five years.

The San Francisco Police Department announced Monday it will issue the reward for "for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Mitchell Warren."

Warren, 24 at the time, was shot on the 700 block of Ellis St. on Sept. 30, 2016. Officers provided aid until the fire department arrived, but Warren died of his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

Three years ago, police requested the public's assistance with the homicide investigation. Officials then "located" surveilence footage of the suspect riding the handlebars of a bicycle, the department said in a release.

Homicide investigators are trying to identify the suspect, and they asked for the public's help on Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 415-575-4444 or text TIP411.
