San Mateo County has expanded its COVID-19 testing, which is free for residents.
Coronavirus testing has been expanded from one day a week at the San Mateo County Event Center to Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Deputy San Mateo County Manager Justin Mates.
“Testing, obviously, really helps with the individuals who want their results, who need to know whether or not they’re positive or negative,” Mates told KCBS Radio. “It also helps from a public health perspective, understand where positives are, if there’s any potential for a localized outbreak.”
The county is working with Project Baseline, with the goal of testing 5,000 people a week.
An appointment is required and results are available within two days.
San Mateo County can also support those who need to isolate to protect their families.
