
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – A man who runs a nonprofit in San Francisco's Fillmore District was allegedly assaulted by two men on Friday morning just outside the front doors of his organization.

James Spingola was beaten by two homeless men around 11 a.m. after asking them to move away from the entrance of the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center, Rev. Amos Brown, President of the S.F. NAACP and pastor at Third Baptist Church said in a news release.
The men allegedly used a wooden plank to beat Spingola sending him to the hospital. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Spingola's injuries are non-life threatening.
Spingola runs the Ella Hill Hutch Community Center in addition to being a juvenile probation commissioner for San Francisco.
Police found one of the suspects and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and other charges but he was not booked, San Francisco police confirmed to the paper. The second suspect has not been located.
