Just a little more than a week before the November vote, a coalition of San Francisco community organizers rallied in support of election integrity, in response to recent comments from the president.

Dozens turned out for a rally and march in downtown San Francisco this weekend aimed at pushing back against President Donald Trump’s highly charged election rhetoric.

Organizers said they’re concerned by the president's comments casting doubt on the validity of voting by mail, as well as his call to supporters to closely watch polling places.

Among those organizers is Bruce Neuburger with local activist group Refuse Fascism.

“The threats that he’s made to the election process itself, means that we have to actually put ourselves in the public square,” said Neuburger.

It’s not clear what follow up actions the coalition of community groups might take, but Neuburger hopes the organizing will serve as a call to action for others.

“We’ve just got to be part of a much, much bigger movement that will emerge if threats that Trump has made – if he actually tries to make good on those,” he told KCBS Radio.

During the second presidential debate, President Trump insisted that he is pushing for a “clean election.”
