The San Francisco Department of Public Health has announced that COVID-19 booster shots will be required at indoor mega-events.

In accordance with the order, the Golden State Warriors and Chase Center officials revealed Wednesday that starting in February, eligible fans must show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination and a booster shot to enter the venue.

"Beginning February 1, 2022, Chase Center will verify proof of up-to-date vaccinations, which includes proof of a booster shot at least one week prior to an event for eligible guests, for entry to the venue," the basketball team and arena said in a joint statement.

All fans attending basketball games will need to show a physical or digital copy of a vaccine card and a valid ID. Fans under the age of 12 will be asked to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 to 48 hours before entering the arena.

Per the San Francisco Department of Public Health order, unvaccinated fans ages 12 and older will not be allowed to go to events with more than 1,000 attendees, "regardless of the reason they are unvaccinated," officials stated.

For fans who are not yet fully vaccinated, the Warriors and Chase Center encourage them to do so.
