Two men and one woman, who dared to venture out at Ocean Beach on Saturday, were rescued after being swept hundreds of feet off shore.

"Attn surfers: you are not above the rules...(please) stay OUT of the water during an advisory. SFFD members had to make two separate and dangerous ocean entries for surfers back to back today," San Francisco's Neighborhood Emergency Response Team posted to Twitter.

Officials throughout the Bay Area warned beachgoers to stay away from the water Saturday, but their words were not heeded by some.

All three victims were transported safely to shore needing little medical attention. Mayor London Breed took to Twitter to thank the rescue team for their brave efforts.

A Tsunami Advisory was issued for the Bay Area after an underwater volcanic eruption in the South Pacific sent surges to the coast, bringing rip currents, flooding and inundation of low lying areas.
