A woman and her mother have been robbed at gunpoint of their French bulldog in Alameda County, continuing a string of pet robberies across the Bay Area.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, the two women were approached by five men in a black SUV, 2019 KIA Niro, while walking on Norbridge Rd. in Castro Valley, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office reported. Three of the suspects were armed with handguns.

One suspect stole the daughter's purse, which contained her wallet and home and vehicle keys. A second suspect snatched the woman's 15-month-old French bulldog named "Tito" and fled the scene, police said.
At around 9:45 pm, the suspects drove to the victim's Castro Valley residence in the KIA and stole her 2019 Mercedes C63 from her driveway, police said.
Through video footage, authorities found that the KIA is also a reported stolen vehicle that has been involved in several armed robberies.
Multiple French bulldog robberies have been reported in the Bay Area in the past months, the most recent of which occurred on Thursday in Oakland. It is unknown if the robberies are related.
