San Francisco police are still investigating the attempted Wednesday afternoon kidnapping of two children on Lake Street following the arrest of a suspect.
Officer Adam Lobsinger said in a statement to KCBS Radio on Thursday the department arrested and booked Erin Williams, a 42-year-old Sebastopol woman, on charges of kidnapping and child endangerment. Police said a witness told them Williams briefly took a 3-year-old, and later tried to take a 1-year-old boy, on Wednesday afternoon.

The woman was booked at San Francisco County Jail on Wednesday, according to police. Williams was still in custody in San Francisco Sheriff's Office records on Thursday night, booked on a pair of felony counts of kidnapping and a single count misdemeanor child abuse or endangerment.
Sheriff's records on Thursday night listed Williams as booked on a pair of felony kidnapping charges, as well as a pair of felony counts of child endangerment. A Sheriff's Office spokesperson has not yet responded to KCBS Radio's request for comment on why the listed charges changed.
San Francisco police initially listed Williams as a 34-year-old woman in a statement to KCBS Radio. A spokesperson with the department said in an email on Thursday night that was a typo.
Police said officers from the Richmond Station responded to reports of a possible kidnapping at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. A 31-year-old woman told officers she was caring for two children and alleged Williams tried to kidnap both of them.
The woman said Williams grabbed the 3-year-old boy from her arms and fled, but she chased Williams and grabbed the boy. Williams then followed the woman, she told police, trying to grab the 1-year-old from his stroller. He was belted in, according to the police account of what the 31-year-old woman said, and Williams then ran away.
Police said officers found Williams after canvassing the area, arresting her "without incident." Neither the 31-year-old woman nor the children sustained injuries, according to police.
