The Committee for Recognition of Nursing Achievement – the union representing about 5,000 nurses at Stanford Health Care and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital – said if the new contract is approved it would give members a 7% wage increase this year, KPIX reported.

The contract also includes a 5% pay increase, which goes into effect at the start of next April, with an additional increase effective in April 2024 and improvements to nurses' retirement benefits, the news station said.

The hospitals also warrant an additional week of pre-scheduled vacation time for all nurses beginning in 2024, the station reported

The union's membership will vote on whether to approve the agreement this weekend.

"After extensive discussions, we were able to reach consensus on a contract that reflects our shared priorities and enhances existing benefits supporting our nurses' health, well-being, and ongoing professional development," Stanford Health wrote in a message to the community. "Pending ratification, we look forward to welcoming our colleagues back on Tuesday."
