A student at the California School for the Blind in Fremont was found dead in their dorm room Friday morning.

Hayward California Highway Patrol reported to the school around 7:30 a.m. after staff found the student unresponsive in their room, officers said. Paramedics pronounced the student dead on the scene and officers started an investigation into their death.
Officers have not released the student's name or cause of death due to detectives from CHP's Golden Gate division investigating the incident, the Mercury News reported.
The Fremont Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at the California School for the Deaf, which is next to the school of the blind, according to the newspaper.
It was unclear if the death and the medical emergency were related.
