A wine shop founded by Gov. Gavin Newsom is the latest victim in a string of break-ins attempts across San Francisco.

Police responded to PlumpJack Wine & Spirits at 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday at the corner of Greenwich and Fillmore St., the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The storefront window had been broken, but no suspects were at the scene.

"Over the past year during the shelter-in-place, this store location has experienced several attempted break-ins, similar to many of the other businesses in the area and across the city," Joe Arellano, spokesman for the PlumpJack Group, said to the newspaper.

This is the fourth break-in of PlumpJack Wine & Spirits in the past year. Before Tuesday’s incident, thieves broke the store’s windows once in February and twice in April.

The vandalism comes days after Newsom signed legislation initiating the Organized Retail Task Force designed to target retail thefts.
