The incident happened at 9:54 a.m. at Steiner Street and Green Street, San Francisco police said. The 78-year-old woman was apparently walking in a crosswalk when a truck turning left onto Green Street hit her.

The victim's injuries are reportedly life-threatening.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, but her condition isn't known at this time.

According to KPIX, the driver of the truck – reportedly identified as a 67-year-old man – was not arrested after the incident.

The collision happened just blocks from a similar incident in Cow Hollow last November, in which a San Francisco elementary school teacher was killed at the intersection of Franklin Street and Union Street.
