Four people, including two Alameda County deputies, are hurt after a pursuit of a stolen pickup truck ended with a crash in Oakland.

The incident began when a deputy spotted a stolen Ford Ranger truck at around 11 a.m. in San Leandro, Sgt. Ray Kelly told KCBS Radio. When the deputy attempted to arrest the driver, the truck took off going the wrong way on I-580 in the Foothill Blvd. area.

The driver then jumped out of the pick-up, ran across the freeway and carjacked another vehicle. Kelly said that's when the deputies were injured, including one who was brutally dragged.

"They were fighting inside the car and at one point the deputy believed the suspect had a gun," he told KCBS Radio. "There was a big struggle and ultimately he got dragged."

The chase came to an end when the suspect crashed into a motorcyclist on the 98th Ave. exit, causing severe damage to the vehicle.

Both the suspect and motorcyclist were taken to the hospital. There has been no word on their conditions.
