
Police arrested a 41-year-old man on Monday morning accused of murdering his mother in Walnut Creek.
Authorities said they received a call shortly after 5 a.m. from a woman asking for help and claiming she had just been stabbed.

Officers arrived at the 2600 block of Jones Rd. as lifesaving procedures were being performed on the victim, identified as 74-year-old Darlene Roth. She was quickly transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased.
Investigators determined the suspect was her son, Nicolas Roth, who was located at the scene and detained for murder. Both the suspect and victim were residents of Walnut Creek.
Police said there is no threat to the community as this was an "isolated incident" between family members. No other information was available.
