Foster City police on Wednesday announced they had arrested Rachel Pruitt at her home in Antioch earlier that day. Pruit allegedly robbed a person in unincorporated Redwood City and another in Foster City within a half-hour span last Saturday, the Foster City Police Department said.
A woman in her 30s carrying a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine and driving a "Japanese crossover type SUV" allegedly committed a robbery in Redwood City at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday.
Twenty-eight minutes later, officers responded to the Apollo Lane home of a Foster City man who said a woman matching that description entered his garage as he parked, shooting once into his car after he didn’t comply with her direction to open the car door and hand over his wallet.
Foster City detectives discovered "evidence taken" from the Foster City man and "the weapon used in her crimes" while serving a search warrant at her Antioch home, Foster City Police Chief Tracy Avelar said in a press release on Wednesday.
Avelar said Pruitt was arrested "on a $375,000 felony warrant for the violations committed in Foster City and unincorporated Redwood City." The press release didn’t specify the charges Pruitt was arrested on, nor did it say whether she is being held in San Mateo or Contra Costa counties.
The Foster City Police Department didn’t respond to KCBS Radio's request for comment prior to publication. This story will be updated when we hear back.
