
SAN CARLOS, Calif. (KCBS RADIO) – A woman and mother of two children was killed, reportedly beheaded, on Thursday in San Carlos outside her home.

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, just before noon on Thursday deputies were flagged down by people aware of the violent confrontation at Magnolia Avenue and Laurel Street.
When deputies arrived on the scene minutes later, the woman was found dead in the street and the suspect had fled the scene. But shortly after the suspect returned to the scene, where he was arrested.
He's been charged with murder and according to a Twitter post by the Sheriff's Office on Thursday, the suspect and the victim knew each other, and this was an isolated incident.
“There is no outstanding threat to the community,” said the post.
The victim has not yet been identified. According to reporting by the San Francisco Chronicle on Friday, the suspect is Jose Rafael Solano Landaeta, 33.
He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City on Thursday and is being held without bail, according to the paper. He is slated to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the paper.
