Twin infants Kason and Ky’air Thomas were both victims of an abduction last month after a car was stolen from outside a pizza restaurant with both inside.
The kidnapping on December 19 resulted in a statewide Amber Alert search for the five-month-old boys in Ohio.
Ky’air was found a few hours later in a Dayton International Airport parking lot. Kason wouldn’t be found for days but was eventually recovered buckled in his seat in the back of the same stolen vehicle outside of an Indianapolis Papa John’s on December 22.
The discovery of Kason came after police arrested a suspect. Nalah Jackson has been charged with kidnapping on the federal and local levels.
Though both children were eventually reunited with their mother, the high-profile case took a sad turn Saturday when police responded to a house in Columbus and a report of a baby not breathing.
Ky’air Thomas was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital but medics were unable to save him and pronounced him dead around 11:45 p.m.
Saturday night, according to police.
A cause of death has not been released.
