A Kentucky high school was forced to evacuate this week after a student used a fart spray that was so bad several students had to be treated, officials shared.
The Oldham County Sheriff’s Office shared that police, firefighters, and EMS responded to Oldham County High School at around 11 a.m. after receiving reports of a “strong gas odor” in the building.
The school was quickly evacuated as first responders worked to uncover what had caused the odor. EMS evaluated at least seven students who reported feeling discomfort from the odor.
No additional medical attention was required for the students, and class resumed as normal after the building was cleared.
Detectives were eventually able to discover that there was no gas leak at the school but that the smell emanated from a liquid substance a 17-year-old female student allegedly poured inside two trash cans.
The sheriff’s office shared that the substance was a “non-toxic concentrated liquid product commonly advertised online for use in pranks.”
The incident is still under investigation at this time, the sheriff’s department shared.
