DETROIT (WWJ) -- There's another huge recall of Ford vehicles.
Announced on Friday, Ford Motor Co. is recalling about 1.4 million F-150 pickup trucks in the U.S., as the automaker said some of the vehicles will unexpectedly downshift.
The recall includes F-150 light trucks with a six-speed automatic transmission that were produced between March 12, 2014 and Aug 18, 2017.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the company are aware, so far, of two "potentially" related injuries and one accident.
The issue may be caused by an electrical problem where connections can wear down over time, officials said.
Owners of the affected trucks will be notified by mail. They'll be instructed to bring their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealership where the trucks' powertrain control module software will be updated to fix the issue, at no cost to the vehicle owners.
